How did Rachel Carson influence America today?
Rachel influenced America by warning people about the dangers of pesticides.

Rachel Carson was born on May 27, 1907 in Springdale, Pennsylvania on a small farm. She grew up with cats, cows, chickens, and horses which made her relationship between animals and their environment closer. Carson liked to study nature, and liked to write. She worked for the US Fish and Wild Life Service and wrote several best selling books about the sea. On April 14, 1964 Rachel Carson died of cancer.

Rachel warned people about the dangers of pesticides. She also said “The more I learned about the use of pesticides, the more appalled I became.” so her book Silent Spring warned about the widespread use of DDT (deadly bug spray) and other pesticides that were killing all the animals. Silent Spring became one of the most influential books of the 20th century.

Rachel helped the environment by telling people what pesticides are doing to the environment. She wrote books about nature to show what a beautiful earth we have that we are ruining by using pesticides. Rachel Carson had no intention of being a hero or changing the course of history. Rachel did all of this because she was appalled about the use of pesticides and wanted to tell people what they are doing to the earth before it gets too far. If it gets too far there will be no way to stop it.
